    Coach Jon Adams joins LLA after 5 years as varsity head coach at Coeur d’Alene High School, where he compiled a 71-37 overall record.  His 2023-24 Viking team finished 21-5, won their first league title since 2016, won their first regional title since 2011 and advanced to the state tournament for the time since 2012.

    Prior to this, Coach Adams coached 5 years at Ballard High School in Seattle, WA, which competed in the highly elite Seattle Metro League.  Adams coached 3 years as an assistant at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA.  This included their 1996 team that played for the NAIA Division II National Championship.     

    Other coaching experience includes 1 year at Mead High School in Spokane, WA.  Adams worked for Northwest Basketball Camps (NBC) teaching summer basketball camps. 

    Adams spent 2 years working in corporate sponsorships for the Seattle SuperSonics and 3 years in sales for WHL minor league hockey teams Spokane Chiefs and Seattle Thunderbirds.  Adams also spent 2 years as a radio sports broadcaster for Seattle’s KBFG.

    Adams played high school basketball at Coeur d’Alene HS.  His senior year he was named 1st Team All-Inland Empire, All-North Idaho District 1 Team and Idaho 3A All-State tournament team.  Adams played college basketball at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA.

    In addition to basketball, Adams enjoys cycling, traveling, playing music and spending time with friends and family.

Deon Watson MØDE Basketball


  • Deon Watson Sr. is a former collegiate and professional basketball player, currently serving as Receiving Superintendent at URM Stores Inc. in Spokane, Washington. He resides in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

    A native of Mississippi, Deon played college basketball at the University of Idaho from 1990 to 1994. During his career with the Vandals, he averaged 9.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game and earned All-Big Sky honors in the 1993–94 season. He remains the school’s all-time leading rebounder and ranks second in blocked shots.

    Following his career at the University of Idaho, Deon played professionally overseas, including in Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Poland ,Turkey and South America. One of his notable stints was with ASD Pavia in Italy’s Serie A2 league.


    Basketball Career

    Born on December 11, 1972, in Mississippi, Watson Sr. played as a 6-foot-8 forward at the University of Idaho from 1990 to 1994. During his collegiate career, he averaged 9.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game over 120 games and was named to the All-Big Sky team in the 1993–94 season. He holds the university's career rebounding record with 877 rebounds and ranks second in career blocked shots.

    Family and Legacy

    Deon and his former wife, Anna Hegbloom , raised three children: Deon Jr., Haile, and Anton. Each child has pursued athletics at a high level:

    Watson Sr. met Anna Hegbloom at the University of Idaho, and they later married and had three children: Deon Jr., Haile, and Anton. The family settled in Coeur d’Alene in the early 2000s. Although Deon Sr. and Anna divorced around 2019, they remain close friends. He’s currently engaged to his Fiancé Angela Skinner.

    • Deon Jr. played football at the University of Idaho.

    • Haile competed in collegiate volleyball at Eastern Washington and Fresno State.

    • Anton, the youngest, starred at Gonzaga University and was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2024. Currently with New York Knicks.

    After his basketball career, Deon transitioned into logistics and distribution, applying his leadership and discipline to operations management. At URM Stores, he plays a key role in overseeing daily inbound logistics.

    Despite his professional commitments, Deon remains actively involved in his children's athletic pursuits and is a prominent figure in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene communities.

Scott Stockwell MØDE Basketball
  • Born and raised in Coeur d’Alene Idaho, Scott Stockwell has deep roots in the local sports community. A former standout player at Post Falls High school, Scott began his collegiate basketball career at North Idaho College before transferring to Carroll College (MT), where he continued to develop his skills and passion for the game.

    After college, Scott transitioned into coaching, starting as an assistant at Lakeland High School for 4yrs. His dedication, leadership, and love for the game eventually led him to the head coaching role at Coeur d’Alene High School where he lead and mentored the next generation of athletes for 3 years. 

    Scott took a short break in coaching to build his business career, where he owns two successful fitness clubs alongside his family. His love and commitment to the world of basketball has brought him back into coaching at Mode Prep where he looks forward to working with the best high school basketball players in country.

Vaea T. Fiefia  MØDE Basketball

  • Vaea specializes in sport-specific training for both teams and individual athletes. With over 20 years of experience, he has developed strength, speed and agility programs that deliver measurable on-field results.

Coach Anthony RIce


  • Anthony Rice began his basketball journey in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was recognized as one of the top 25 players in the state during his high school career. He continued his playing career at Blinn College in Texas, where he earned All-Conference honors. Following junior college, Rice transferred to Lenoir-Rhyne University (NCAA Division II). There, he played as a guard and once again received All-Conference recognition.

    In addition to his athletic success, Rice excelled academically. He graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne with a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, consistent with the academic profile later highlighted by Simpson University Athletics.

    During the 2021–22 season, Rice completed his collegiate playing career at Simpson University (NAIA) in Redding, California. As a senior, he appeared in 23 games and started 22 of them, averaging 9.4 points per game. He posted shooting splits of 40.6% from the field, 32.7% from three, and 81.4% from the free-throw line. In addition, he contributed 3.4 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game.

    After finishing his playing career, Rice immediately transitioned into coaching. He began working with the men’s basketball program at Simpson University, building on his leadership experience and academic background. In 2023, he joined Spokane Community College (NWAC) as an assistant coach for the Bigfoot men’s basketball team, marking the next step in his coaching career.
